Replacement Rear Door Locks - Do "Golf V" locks fit/function ie 7L0839016A

I can see it's inside the lock mechanism as the cable is attached to it that connects the microswitch to the car but the switch itself is not immediately visible like it is at the bottom of the door locks

I've got a load of boot locks here...can post out too, just saying!

Were youre locks cycling when you turned the ignition key too, before starting? Like a quick lock unlock check bu the car itself?

Mine is doing the same however it’s the drivers door. Doesn’t show it open on my half DIS also petrol flap doesn’t open via button. So pointing towards the button on the lock itself?

I'm now wondering if the drivers front door lock off a mkV would also work? We will see a load of working fuel flaps coming into play if it is!!!

It's definitely worth someone having a gamble as the other VAG versions certainly seem cheaper and a number of years newer. Is the Driver Door connection 9 pins?

Wonder if one of these new aftermarket ones would work (A2 part Number 8Z2837016D) ?
