Replacement steering wheel

I bought a replacement steering wheel from an Audi TT Mk1 on ebay. It has taken some time to arrive, and when it has arrived the squib (I think that's it), looks a little odd. I assume this is not how it's supposed to look. Any advice as to whether it can be fixed without returning it to the (less than responsive) seller would be appreciated. Also I have just realised that the airbag I already purchased for the wheel (separately) doesn't fit, as it's a slightly different shape, even though it seems to have the same part number. Oh dear.

You use the angle sensor of the A2
The airbag for the 3 spoke sports A2 steering wheel and the Mk1 TT are the same shape and fitting only the trim ring is different

i managed in my haste to buy an airbag from a TT S-Line, which is a different shape. I've now purchased the steering wheel to fit, and will sell the standard one I bought. I do like to make things complicated :p
