Replacement wing mirror - any advice?

Hi all,

Just a quick one - I could do with replacing the passenger side wing mirror on my 2000 1.4 SE petrol. It's obviously had a big thump at some point, and there is a small hole in the casing. Also the glass is held in (rather neatly, I must say) with silicone sealant!

Looking on eBay, it seems I could have a whole replacement unit for about £25, which seems pretty good to me.

Was wondering if there are any potential pitfalls I should be aware of? Will any Audi A2 wing mirror fit, or does it need to be the same/similar year to my car?

Thank you! :)

P.S. If anyone has a fully functioning nearside mirror in the same green as my car, one that wouldn't need a respray, I'd be interested to hear from you!

Apologies Andy - that was me being deliberately flippant! I think there were only three greens offered for sale (well spotted @Bargepower - mine is indeed Pine), and I didn't think there was too much of a chance that anyone would have the right one knocking about to be honest.

However, useful to know that they're all the same and interchangeable. Pretty sure that even I, with my fists of ham and fingers of butter, can respray a wing mirror!

I've got one - I replaced mine with black which looks good on a silver car - there's a big scratch on one of them as I recall and they don't fold in.
You're welcome to them, send me a PM if you're interested.

I guess your other alternative would be to get a pair in a colour that doesn't clash horribly with the Pine green and fit both - metallic black, silver etc would probably work quite well? Might be easier than trying to get the paint colour perfectly matched to Pine green.

@trevorswaine Foolishly I ordered one off eBay before I saw your message, but it was pretty cheap, so not the end of the world. But thanks for the kind offer all the same!
