After the new ECU unit and various tweeks on the software we got 6HP more (from 138HP to 144HP) and more torque! A rough guess for the 100-octane gasoline would be 148HP, or anything close to 150HP! AUDI A2 ZZT 4850.jpg

Here is a youtube link on the dyno...I entertain the idea of recording the car's 0-100km and 0-140km performance at some point. More to come:

Hi Folks, if replacing the AUA with a 1.4 CGG what ECU and other parts are needed apart from the ignition harness and injectors? Would key also be needed for ECU?

Hi ThanosPas!

Did you have any problems during these months?

What is the budget needed for such an upgrade, more or less?

Thank you!

Hi! Well, I don't know what would be needed in fact. If the engine that you chose to change into, was produced closer to the early '00s I would tell you without thinking about it that is fully compatible. But since this a 2010-11 engine, I would be more reserved because if this a different design I don't fully understand how it works to provide you with a full list...Any luck so far?

Hi! No problems at all! The transplant was performed as it was supposed to and there weren't any surpises so far! I have traveled 5000 km more or less. The car is really fun to drive! You know the ESP is hard at work there! It makes you have in mind always when you see a wide road or being alone on a road, to get a little extra out the car's performance. It's really exciting! I 've also eaten up a kilo of metal of the single mass flywheel which contributed in the car being a little more agile and responsive that already was (!). It consumes (a mixed) 9 lt of gas and LPG (and since more LPG is needed to create the same power as with gas, I think purely using gas would result in consuming 8ltes or something like that). It's hard to tell how much someone has to contribute to a project like this in order to get an A2 of 145-150HP, in general. This is because I got this car in a very bad condition and I literally tranformed it from the inside (which is what I care most). But, if I had to make an assumption as to what (only for the engine) you would pay, using only the best parts available, I would say something north of 6000 euros. I 've paid 12000+ for everything (from racing suspension to racing brakes and from changing the roof to new AC motor for example). Well, I am satisfied with the car right now and If I had to choose, I would do it again. There is always staff to do, this will never end! But I intend to keep the car for ever, no matter what, and that for me makes the investment worth the money.

PS. The only accurate measurement I have of the car's perfomance is the 0-60km/h time which I measured using a GPS and an android app.. It was 3.3 sec. I'm not very good in these kind of tests, I always do mistakes, this is why I don't have a representative 0-100km/h. I would guess something like 8+ sec. I am going to arrange a test with somebody with experience in these things. I don't mind, although it's good to know after all the effort. All I care is the exciting sense of the accelaration in the 0-60km/h! :)

Wow!! You really did put a lot of work and money into that car.

When I thought about improving the A2 I check the remapping option but it looks like you don't get much out of an 1.4 petrol engine. I also checked the 6 speed gearbox, but again the 1.4 has not enough torque for that. So that's when I thought about a bigger engine but my budget is far more limited so I think I'll keep with what I have until I find a good offer for an 1.6 fsi.

Enjoy your car!!!

Thanks! But I wouldn't recommend an FSI engine unless you have studied very well the model's behavior through the years and you're lucky enough to choose the less stressed you'll come by when the time comes to buy it! If you know somebody that can make a trustworthy judgement, consult him before you put your hand in the pocket! An FSI also requires many modifications in order to work on a previously 1.4 car.. Be extra careful with this! Good luck!

Ok, so what would you recommend? 1.4 tdi 90cv?
Thanks!

Ive done that conversion and id suggest its a no no , unless youv a donor car as you have to swap virtually everything , from fuel tank and lines to the complete wiring loom to convert from petrol to diesel

OK. I gotta ask. how was the CGGB swap done? Did it simply require the matching ECU, or were other adaptations performed?
CGGB supposedly does not have EGR, so the same ECU should not work... so did the new ECU work with the original dashboard and ABS?

And now I'm even more confused, because the CGGB ECU has a completely different connector, as far as I can tell.

I have replaced the AUA with the BCB engine 1.6L 16V (105ps) and is getting tuned as well. In fact, I believe we have done on this motor almost anything (beryllium valve seats, special LPG valves, increased compression ratio, stage 2 cams, air flow remodeling, a metallic polo gti intake manifold, hand made inox exhaust etc) that can be done except for custom made pistons, since for that "low" PS it's really not needed. Many mods have been made in the process. Now we're fixing all the electrical stuff. Our goal is to get a stable outcome at or close 140 PS out of this atmospheric motor.
Hi, sorry if I missed something, but would it be possible to swap the AUA with a BCB and run it on factory AUA wiring? If not, what would be needed? Seems like a easy way to gain 200cc of torque..?

see threads from @celsisone who undertook almost exactly this conversion - AUA to AUB, to AUB head with BCB bottom end, and is now installing a 1.8T 20V engine.
