HI,

Yes, there are plenty of us with this GREAT mod.

I would not recommend a DIY fit though, unless you are comfortable with swapping pins in the ECU connectors and locating a live feed from the fuse block.

There are a few people / businesses on here that can do this for you at a very reasonable price, I guess it all depends on where you are prepared to travel.

The three main options (In alphabetical order !!!)

Is A2Cars (Milton Keynes)
Sarge (London)
Tom (Timmus) (Lancaster, but mobile and often Darn Sarf!)

thanks Steve

im happy to connect to the ECU. I've got VCDS and Supervag plus so nota problem. so I will, have go and update the forum

Given that you are in St Albans I guess A2 cars in MK is your nearest.

I had Tony at A2 Cars fit a Cruise control for me last year. Tony has fitted many of these and puts in a custom loom. Professional job.

Others on the forum are up there with the best but I make this post so you can have independent assurance that you local A2 specialist is good for the job. I have no vested interest in A2 Cars, just a happy customer.

Hi Brent, welcome to the club.

I've retrofitted cruise control to countless A2s. I'll be passing St Albans in a week or so and would happily add your A2 to the list.

Many thanks to Steve for the recommendation.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi everyone, I am looking for somebody who can fit cruise control in to my 1.4 tdi 90. is anybody around West Sussex please? Thanks Tom

Take a trip to A2 Cars in Milton Keynes - they'll do the cruise, and also give your car the kind of expert service and attention the likes of which it will have never received before!

thanks Tom - will probably be doing after Crimbo so dont worry this time - will provably purchase one of the kits off ebay and put it inder the tree! thanks for all the replies - a very active forum and im looking forward to being part of.

Brent

Thanks for the feedback, we all kinda proud of the forum and members we have.
It is good to hear that it is noticed, thanks

Hello, and welcome to the club.

I'm currently in West Sussex, just outside Worthing. I can fit cruise control for you this week, either here or at your home / place of work.

Cheers,

Tom

Hi everyone, I travel 120 miles daily on the A46 (Coalville to Lincoln) and would like to have cruise control retro fitted. Which kit should I buy from eBay and is there anyone nearby who can fit. What is the cost of fitting. I'd like to have it fitted this side of Christmas if possible.

Kind regards,

Tom

Hi Tom,
I would recommend either Tom, "timmus" or Tony at A2 cars. I wouldn,t know how much it would cost - perhaps a PM to either would assist. Tony is based in Milton keynes and Tom is in Lancaster but he tends to travel all over the country and both do a damn fine job !. Both tend to supply their own kits so no need to buy from ebay - it may not be up to their standards anyway.

Hi Dave, thank you very much. I have now been in touch with Tom to arrange fitting of one of his own kits. Thanks again. Tom

I had to fitted it myself, only because timmus and the guy in Germany he recommended, were to far to reach.

Greetings everyone, I am also very interested in having cruise control retrofitted. I am located in south London and have vw Sharan CCS stalk purchased from vw teesside so would just need fitting. Anyone interested?

Cheers Joe

Morning,

If you broaden your search you'll find plenty of useful online guides and come to realise that this retrofit can be quite simple if you're a competent DIYer along with having access to VCDS. I don't know of anyone within the London area who could assist, maybe Ian @Bargepower but don't know if he offers these kind of services. Send him a PM and ask.

What most people have chosen to do is wait for Tom @timmus to conduct this retrofit for them. I'm quite sure he'll be visiting Leighton Buzzard in the coming months where he sets up his retrofitting shop for a few days at a time. Send him a PM as he is a wizard at this retrofit.

If you cannot wait for him to drop down South then you can always visit him up in Lancaster where he may also be able to offer you other things from his list of offerings.

Kind regards,

Tom

Anyone in south london that could do this to my 1.4petrol A2?
Hello,

I have fitted cruise control for almost everybody who's contributed to this thread.
In case you haven't already seen it, this thread provides a good overview of the services that I offer...

This thread gives you a good understanding of how my 'South East' service works...

I'm available year-round at my base near Lancaster and will warmly welcome anyone who visits me.

Kind regards,

Tom (Timmus)

I used a guy in S London to fit cruise to my first A2 about 15 years ago - he was selling his services via eBay and he still has the same account, but I suspect he's moved on to other ways of making a living. Worth contacting him to ask, though. His eBay ID is "hazzydayz101".

As others have said, DIY is pretty straightforward if you're competent (able to read and carefully follow instructions, etc). I fitted it to my current car in 2009 and created a detailed set of instructions, but was asked by the forum owners not to make them available on this forum at the time.
