Retrofit Airbag Switch

I have just replaced my glovebox, it came with an airbag switch fitted (that my key fits !?!).
I would like this to work, I.E. be wired up.

Is this possible? Will the wiring already be there? (forgot to proper look, lol)
Will it have to be VCDS'd to tell car it is there?
