Return of the A2

I can’t identify it on that diagram. It’s a straight pipe with a bend at the end that runs from the outlet of the thermostat housing on the right hand side of the block down to the waterpump on the left hand side.

Yep physically it looks the same. £16.99 here (was SURE it was £11.71 at 10am !!) Can't see it from the top of the engine and I didn't crawl underneath which I think would be the best place to see it on the car

Hi @simes2024,

Just be aware that fitting the death pipe is a lot more involved than you seem to think here

"Seems to make logical sense to get this done while the mechanic has the coolant drained for replacing pipe #3 on the diagram."

The problem is access to the pipe down the back of the engine. A job best combined with cambelt change.

Wise words. A cursory look under the bonnet made me think as much as I could not even SEE the pipe. It seems they are readily available and cheap.
Cambelt was done last November (I'm told)
Perhaps the proboost upgrade is a better option (and far easier) as a preventative

I have to be honest, before going outside to look I thought it was on top the engine and thus much easier to get to
