anyone had this/know of the reason/fix??.please

noticed how the needles on the speedo and revcounter etc, on the instrument cluster glow red? my rev counter works fine but without even a flicker of that sexy red glow.
could it be a mere fuse, and where.?
could it be that they are independantly lit, and its a bulb gone. if so does the whole clutser have to come out? uuugh
or could it simply be the moisture ,from the continuous rain and flooded roads finally causing a moisture level in the car so high its affecting the electrics. ..I have heard of electric snags on a2's after valets.
any ideas/help please.
thanks for reading this

Hi Disting,

Sounds like you have a dodgy LED in your instrument cluster, if it's just the one instrument needle that is unlit.

Unfortunately, all the LEDs are surface mounted and are considered non-replaceable by Audi - they'll ask for about £600 and a new instrument cluster!

It is repairable though, if you have the right tools and skill with an iron. Having said that, it's not to be undertaken lightly and if you're under warranty of any kind, get ye down to Mr Audi and tell him to fix it.

Cheers,

Mike
