Road TAX!!!

Hi guys

How much road tax do you pay for your a2 yearly?

I have the 1.4 se petrol version and have been asked to pay 115 for the year
my friend who has diesel version and much higher bhp pays 35 for the whole year ! Doesnt make sense to me so i have queried it with audi- for what its worth- as the tax people said there may be an error with what audi registered my vehicle emmisions as at time of registration.

I mean could the difference b/w petrol and diesel emmisions be so different?
Any suggestions would be appreciated

The diesels just scrape under the 120g/km barrier and so qualify for the el-cheapo road fund license.

Unfortunately, all the petrols are just above the limit and so have to pay the higher amount. Don't forget that these bands only apply to vehicles registered after 1st March 2001, so any early adopters of the A2 will pay via engine size alone, so will be £115 (if there was such a thing as a 1.6FSi made before 2001, they'd pay £180!!!).

Diesels really are the way forward - anything that you can run on stuff you can grow has my vote!

Yip £35 for the A2 :D
and £205 for the BMW
And for those in the South East, the possibility of exemption from the Congestion Charge from January next year!

Now if that doesn't make TDis even more scarce, and keep prices high, I'll eat my shorts!

Skipton i looked for a few months for a TDI to appear in Scotland but they are soo rare, its only 1.4 1.6 petrols readily available. We went to Leeds to buy ours as they seem to be more available in England than up in Scotland as all the ones i've seen here are all petrols.

Probably because TDi owners up there tend to keep hold of them - I know how passionate the Scots can be about their cars! (my folks live just outside Dundee)

Cheers,

Mike

Sorry folks but I may make you slightly jealous as my wife gets the mobility segment in her disabilitly allowance so we don't pay anything. By the way Mike we are both doing okay thanks.
cheers,
Malcolm.

Well in that case then, you might as well get a 6litre W12 A8 or something so you can save the best part of £300 or so!

Cheers,

Mike

Thats all well and good Mike, but one of them wouldn't go in my garage so my 'Tardis' is big enough for us!!!!!!
ha ha! Malcolm.

And in all probability, both bands A and B will be exempt from the London Congestion Stealth Tax, sorry, charge, from January 2008.

Cheers,

Mike
