Having owned a heavy BMW I never had this problem before - and as i hadn't realised the disc rust could have been cleaned by use of the handbrake - BMWs handbrake has shoes inside the disc - VAG use the caliper for the handbrake!. Anyway, Igot new discs (Zimmerman) and pads (Febi Bilstein from VAG Spares on internet. Parts arrived very quick and are OE manufacturers (not OE spec) so same items without Audi stamp. Highly recommend. i will now be giving tha handbrake a tug every now and again.
