Will be setting off in about 45 mins. Last time my car will be this clean, but must say, I don’t much care given what beauty and great company lies ahead.

Safe trip one and all.

Cleaned and polished mine as well but I'm still going to have to park in Darren's shadow :D

Haven't tried fitting everything in the car yet, at least with three of us one back seat can fold down or even come out. Setting off as soon after 4pm as Lynette and Elise are home from work and school, respectively.

Safe journeys everyone and see you at Fort William tomorrow afternoon if we don't catch you up along the A82 :)

Happy with that 54.5 on the DIS, fully loaded and with 4 on board. Saw a 58.9 at one point and before the hills of the Lake District.

Not bad for the FSI.

That is good going Darren :)

Here we are at last at Burton-in-Kendal services, after 6.5 hours or so. First 50 miles cross-country through the rush hour to M1 J15A to avoid the road works lower down, then M1, A50, M6 at 65mph on the cruise. MPG on the DIS was up to 58.something before we hit a queue for roadworks where they closed three lanes out of four :( Then the hills started so it's 57.7 now. When filled up that would probably come out nearer 60 from experience, still possibly a little low for a 1.4TDI.

Anyway, goodnight all and see you tomorrow afternoon ... can't wait :D

Wishing you all a fabulous time and praying for safe travels. Watch out for the sheep, and Skye Ultra Trail runners doing 74 miles round the Island on foot this weekend! Hopefully they’re just on the hills and leave the roads for you guys.

Would have absolutely loved to join you all for this amazing ‘local’ event, but this weekend marks the first anniversary of my father-in-law’s death. We will therefore be taking our own special trip to the highlands to spend it with my wife’s family, but I wish you all well and really look forward to seeing all the photos.

Thanks pal. Hope everything goes well for you and its a weekend filled with happy memories.

Hope you all have a fantastic time - I have been enjoying the pics from some members journey up so keep those pics coming. Watch out for the haggis as they are in season at the moment.

Safe journey everyone, would have loved to be there but it's our wedding anniversary so we have other plans. Hopefully this becomes a regular fixture for future years :)

Please keep the pictures coming :)
