Hey folks, I can't make this unfortunately but I wondered what the intended route is for folks heading to Fort William on Friday? If there is a mini convoy passing through the Stirling area (that would be your route if you head via Doune and Callander) I'll try to hook up with you guys and convoy along for a short stretch perhaps from the Keir roundabout over the Hill o' Rue to Doune?

Hi there. That's a lovely idea however I believe the majority of the group will be taking the A82. Certainly those staying in Glasgow will convoy this way and meet up in Fort William in the late afternoon.

Ah okay well I look forward to seeing the photos of what should be a fantastic trip!

I'll be heading (I think) to meet the group in fort William on Saturday morning before the trip west...so early start from fife but not too bad.

As per Alex post - some of us meeting at Premier Inn J2A on the M74 Cambuslang next Friday morning before setting off for Fort William. If you fancy nipping down for a yap and the convoy up loch lomond side we could part company at Crianlarich. All welcome.

I'm planning to meet here too though wife has unavoidable appointment, when are you likely departing?

Hi everyone. For the catering arrangements on Saturday and Sunday night can anyone with any specific food needs or intolerance please pm me or update the whatsapp group. Thank you

I think the Carlise Thursday night crew will meet you all in Cambuslang on Friday morning as its not that far from there really. We will have had breakfast though (well, I will have ?)

We might make it to Cambuslang in time, but we are staying in the Travelodge in the Burton-in-Kendal services on Thursday night and going on to Tebay for breakfast in the morning. Failing that if you put in stops at all the viewpoints up the A82 we're bound to catch you all up at some point :)

We're staying in Windermere thursday night, so not far from you Ian. Going to look around a bit then head of to Fort William in time for tea time and catch up with you guys then.

The last photo brings back memories for me. When I was still at primary school, probably 1959 or 1960 I remember going to Scotland on holiday with my parents and one of my fathers work collegues asking us to go to Spean Bridge to see the commando memorial. He had been a commando during the war and wanted a photo. Before d day he spent several days and nights watching and timing the German patrols along the beaches. No film stars for me he was my absolute hero.

I'm disappointed I can't attend this trip it would have been the perfect first a2oc social for me. It's a wonderful part of the world.

By the way my eml has been off for about 3 months now - good old fsi ?

I think that must be a record. Perhaps we should start a separate "the longest time an eml has been off on an fsi" thread ?

The adventure has begun with our farthest travellers on their way to the Highlands. Big shout out for @Seb_Gurkyh who's on the road as I type - recently passing the Scottish border with a cool 900 miles under the belt of his misano colour storm since leaving home in Germany . @timmus is already in Fort William and exploring the peaks and glens. Safe journey tomorrow to most travelers.
Watch out for the deer!

Yup subliminal messaging in my brain always makes the sign read "Beer on the road"

Safe trip everyone

Fast-forward 24 hours and we'll be in Carlisle, leg one of our journey North and a step closer to this wonderful events scenery. I can't believe that the time has past so quickly since helping M with the first post. Amazing.

Really looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying every second of this trip. I just need to dig out my kilt and I'm all set... ?
