Seat Alhambra Leather Alcantara seats...

Hi Guys,

I have an option to buy Alcantara Leather seats for £500 for my Seat Alhambra but one of them has a bad tear at the rear of the 2nd row drivers side seat and the other has a slight tear but not as bad on the 2nd row passenger side. Can these be repaired or should i not bother with them?

Thanks in advance

I was haggling....they are selling for £800 on ebay and the closest i seen was a set at £1250 or best offer the bonus for me is they are only 10 miles away from where i stay so no need for postage costs. What is involved with a leather specialist/trimmer? will they replace or just stitch/glue this together???

I’d imagine both options are open re sewing/glueing or replacing. The later would be neater but more expensive. I’d go for it if you really want leather.

Did Scott not get his seats redone? In Fife...

I’ve repaired some leather seats with glued on leather patches Cammy. Not the neatest nor invisible but they definitely worked (and my daughter hasn’t burst them again yet). Rounded and sanded the corners of the patch to reduce lift off and some contact adhesive did the job.

I’ve also used glue and then leather filler on couches. That worked okay as well. I needed to patch the back of the tear though with a fabric to give strength and hold the edges together.

Alternatively, get doctor mate to suture it.

I knew the seats were heated and i don't have the proper wiring loom for the heated option. I'm sure i can modify it somehow, however, it looks like the 2nd row seats might be heated as the wiring connections are different and have more wires :/ not sure how to check this. If they are not heated then i might need to chop into the wiring and use the same type of connecter. I will upload photos later...i was hoping for a plug and play setup with these seats...i guess not!!!

Different type of connectors and extra wiring and i'm hopeless with electrics unless it's colour coded the same.

Thanks guys...i've just taped the cable inside of plastic cover as it was the air bag connector. As i don't have the wiring installed for 2nd row seats i'm just leaving them as is, unless someone can suggest an easy mod to get them connected :/ I also have heated front seats but this will also have to be left out as i don't have the connection for this either :(

Cheers
