Can I just ask if any member has found a solution to that little opening behind the rear seats which allows one to see the (partial) contents of the boot?[/red][/red]

Didn't some early A2's have the load cover/parcel shelf as an option?
Could be Alan's is one of them?

I find that if you go to your local petshop you can get some of that coral reef backing stuff for fish tanks. Stick that across the gap and it looks like your boot is full of fish and stuff.

No, Richard, the load cover is not missing, It is the gap between the back of the seats and the load cover - only about a half-inch gap but sufficient to see the partial contents of the boot.
Hope this is clear now.
Regards,
Alan

I know what you mean now. There is a gap which I suppose with a torch you could partially see inside the boot.

The only suggestion I can offer is to glue some black foam across the back seat where the gap is, so when the seat is up and load cover in, the foam bridges the gap.

The gap only appears when you leave the seats in their forward must upright position of the two positions it can be clipped to. Try using the second position and and this gap will be gone. I guess that is what happened? (Though you might already have found the seat in the first position is so upright that no-one can sit on it anyway!)

No, The gap remains. I think that alan's chairs are in the second position. My A2 always has a gap between the seats and the cover. In the most backwards position of the rearbench the gap is about 2 or 3 centimeters. Enough to see into the boot.
Best solution would be to attach some black foam on the back of the cover, perhaps with double sided tape or something.

Thanks for all your help on this, guys (and Russian mud wrestling ladies). It looks to me as though I will just have to put with the gap.
