Selector towers?

Would anyone know if all selector towers for the 5 speed 02J gearboxes are the same?
Bought a MZN but it's not come with the tower despite ebay pictures showing it present (friend collected for me) , VW breakers say they will drop one off at my work but have no idea which variant it will come out of. The box in my project is EWR, if they are all the same imagine its no big deal but if they are perhaps I need to return the box?

Well, I have recently fitted an MZM in one of mine, and an MYP 6 speed in the other, both were similar, but definitely different to the original box I’m afraid. The hat is al a lot more positive and with a shorter shift.
 
Did you use your original A2 counter weight and cable ends on the MZN.

By top hat do you mean top of the shifter that bolts inside the gearbox
 
I believe they are the same. You should be able to use your existing selector tower in the MZN ‘box.

Are all the 5 speed boxes that fit the Diesel A2 the same family, like EWQ MZN JDD are they all 02J boxes?

Have you read the original MZN thread by @Menno? I asked a few questions there, which were answered clearly.
The MZN ‘box is marginally shorter, meaning some spacers need to be fitted at the end where it mounts to the chassis, so it’s a little more involved than just swapping driveshaft flanges around.

Yeah I assumed it's the same as the JDD regarding spacers to square up the gearbox top mount to chassis leg and also modification of the housing, cutting out the triangle.

However I am led to believe the JDD driveshaft flanges are the same as the original A2 ones but MZN are different from menno's findings hence swapping over and ideally new seals

Good to know they are all the same family as struggling to find confirmation online many thanks!
