Self Locking?

Hi all,
Wonder if you can help. I have a 51 A2 tdise and its great apart from a problem that has developed.
When you unlock the vehicle with the remote, it automatically locks again and this continues until one of us wins. The key in the barrell does not help either as it locks itself again. I have run a Vagcom on covenience, but no faults showing. This vehicle had a convenience control unit replaced by Audi dealer in october 05 prior to us buying it. Anyone know how long dealer warranty is on work carried out assuming the convenience control unit is playing up again?

If they supplied you with a new part, and you have the paperwork, then all genuine Audi parts are covered by a 2 year warranty.

Cheers,

Mike

That was quick skipton!
I do have the paperwork kindly provided by the previous owner, is this honoured at any Audi dealer as I am in Heathrow and the dealer that carried out the work is in Bishops Stortford.
Furthermore is the labour price included in the warranty?

Hi Fisheggs
Hope i'm wrong but I think that as the repair was done after the new car warranty had expired you will have to go back to the dealer who replaced the central convenience unit. Try ringing them and see what they say.

Cheers Spike

Parts are only valid for the duration of the warranty, regardless of when they were fitted.

I had a conv; module replaced (amongst other things) 3 days before the warranty ran out, the day after it went faulty again in a nutshell Audi refused to replace it again F.O.C, although did offer 50% discount, I told 'em to shove it.
I put up with an intermittent passenger side window problem, but hey it's not that bad.

If the repair was paid for however (i.e. out of warranty), then you get 2 years guarantee.
