Service Flap Switch

I'm getting the Low Oil warning light on the dash.
The level is fine, it resets when you open and close the service flap.
Does anyone have the part number for the service flap switch and is it a simple swop out.
Thanks.

Just checking you have not done what I did and confuse the low oil warning light with the low oil pressure light. They are very similar almost identical

Its the Min Oil warning.
Been intermittent, oil level stays the the same, opening and shutting the flap resets it, but I've just tried and its staying on at the moment.
Car/engine appear normal, I've had it about 8 years and its done about 145K, no real issues.

the part is common to the contemporary Polo - p/n : 6N0947563

if you google that part number, one of the first images (seen from side / behind) shows that the switch is held home by two sticky-outy flaps - if you are able to depress those, the switch should just pop out of where it is mounted.|

. Obviously the loom connector will need to be removed beforehand.

I threw our Switch away years ago to stop the Alarm going off. Did not know it had anything to do with Oil Warning !

Would it not be worth also checking the oil level switch connector and loom? Obviously, level sensors do go (at 20+ years old). VCDS or similar readout would be useful if it indicates the nature of any fault ie. "open to ground, open to positive" etc, as that then could be tied into the diagnostics tables in the workshop manual indicating priority of where to look.

Is the car not *thinking* service flap opened, oil has been topped up ?
The fact that it resets the level warning would indicate to me its working

Exactly the flaps fine it's the level sensor. Oil sensors give a lot of jip on A2s

My AUA also suffers from odd oil warnings. Not low oil (I had that once too), not low oil pressure, but just the red oil-can symbol with audible bongs. Have changed the oil level / temp sensor in the sump, changed the oil pressure switch at the top, .... all to no avail. It only does it when the engine is nicely warm, and it tends to be shortly after slowing to a halt, or reversing up a hill. Never thought about the service flap switch to be honest..... What happens if the ECU thinks the service flap is open when the car is in motion?

for one you would get a warning symbol on the dash similar to that you get when the bootlid is unlatched or a door isn't properly closed, but flashing on the front end of the schematic.

Update: Bought a Febi Bilstein 19418 Door Contact Switch off ebay for £6.86 and fitted to the service flap, so far problem resolved.
