does anyone know location & how to remove the oil filter.
i have always changed oil on all my other cars however i cant even seem to find filter on this b****r????????????????
does the cover underneath the engine need to come off aswell???????
 
Probably, has to come off on most cars these days.

On 1.4 TDi (2003) the oil filter is in an aluminimum fixtuer with a bolt on the top, the filter is a paper tyoe element which fits inside this unit by undoing the bolt and removing the lid, not the more common steel can type. Until i brought the new element I was puzzeled about where the filter was, this type of design is common on German cars though as a BMW 318 and a 520 I had were also like this.

Very messy to change though from memory!
 
The petrol engine has a spin-on oil filter located to the side of the exhaust manifold. It can be removed with a strap wrench or a 30mm spanner. It looks like you access it from underneath the car so you will need to remove the cover under the engine.
