If you can get some white spirit, get a cloth or tissue wet, and squeeze the white spirit, all around between the dash and stuck on bit. Leave for 5 mins, and repeat a couple of times. This will soften the adhesive. The nylon will work, even without heat. Even if it does not work, you won't damage it.

Did it ? minimal damage, the scratches were already there. Dental floss worked a treat, it was just like sticky fixer stuff.
