Small question - Imperial to Metric

Good morning,

Just a quick question. Has anyone ever been able to change the information on the DIS to metric units (e.g. km instead of miles, km/h instead of mph, l/100km instead of mpg)? Or is the only option to go for the DIS upgrade?

All the best and stay safe

I think there is an option in the coding of the instrument cluster for imperial or metric units
May even be left hand or right hand drive
All from memory from a few years ago tho so I may be wrong but worth a look with full fat vcds
I’ve never come across anything that can be done from a ‘drivers’ perspective to change it

I see, it's not too much of an issue, just thought it would be nice for when we take the car to the continent. Also, I have the issue with the reset button which doesn't work - it does for a while when you disconnect the battery, but then it stops working again after a few days - very strange :)

It should be in in [17] - Instrument Cluster selecting Country.

Yes, this is possible, but it's a global change to the whole instrument cluster rather than just a change to the DIS screen. This would mean the odometer and trip counter are also in km rather than in miles.

Cheers,

Tom

Is it an easy swap, or is it rather complex?

It’s a 2 min job to change the global setting in the instrument cluster from I’m to test of world
Same time to change it back
What Tom was pointing out is that if you change it then the dis will be in lt per km but also the trip and odometer will be in km
You can’t change one without the other

Sorry about that, my mistake... Didn't read Timmus' reply properly :)
