Hi we have owned our silver grey A2 1.4 tdi for nineteen years and has over 200000 miles now on the clock. I purchased it in 2004 and 10 years ago became my wifes car. its been a great workhorse over its life and we absolutely love it. we have a problem with the drivers central locking solenoid it "chatters" when the lock button is pressed. our local independent garage who has serviced the car its entire life hasn't been able to source a replacement solenoid the Audi dealer advised him they were no longer available. does anyone know where i can find one? many thanks in anticipation. Tony

Put a wanted ad in the market place. I'm sure you'll find someone who can help.

Mine did exactly that and I did get another unit from Ami on here but in the end didn't need it because all that was required was a connection clean up and the microswitch relocating and cleaning the mating surfaces. Give that a try first.

As mentioned above give the loom a wiggle, The loom at the connector on mine had a bad connection replaced the loom & all perfect, but the micro switches do break down due to dry joint, I sold my last one to @MickAli as mentioned.

Thanks Ami will check wiring connections.

The person to contact is that well known genius of all matters electric on A2: @timmus. He's based in Lancs, but will be "Down South" for a couple of weeks in July.
