Some questions!

Just got my better half an A2 tdi sport 03, with 35000 on the clock, lovely car well impressed!
im hoping someone maybe able to help me with a view questions on this model:

It seems to take a couple of goes to get the A2 to start from cold is this normal?
When running at normal temp the fan sounds to be running all the time, is this normal?
we dont have the climate control:( but is the standard system A/c with the E-con button out??

Hi Rich, welcome to the A2oc
TDi's are usually good starters providing the battery is in good condition. If it has only been a problem in cold weather then you may have a faulty glow plug or two.
There have also been a few problems with faulty (usually pattern) fuel filters causing loss of prime so the fuel takes a while to get through.
Sorry to say that if you don't have the climate control panel with the digital display then you don't have any form of air conditioning. The E.con button on the diesel only switches off a supplementary heater which is used to warm the car up quicker in cold weather - below 5C.

I thought as much with the air con. any ideas on the radiator fan running all the time?

Ive had the bonnet off while engins running and found the fan isnt running:confused: the sound im hearing thats like the fan running can only be heard in the car! Under the bonnet you cant hear the cause but theres a vibtation under the big intake when you depress the accelerator at around 1000 revs.
any ideas?

Thanks for that! yes the the EGR vibration was a problem, fixed it by mounting on a strip of rubber:)
Just need to sort out this cold start problem, im having a word with the chap that serviced the car on Tuesday, see if they changed the fuel filter!!
