I've got Morel USA 3 ways up front powered off 2 Sinfoni amps..

In fact I should really post pics now it's all installed :)

I'm in need of a digi cam, hopefully I'll be picking one up this weekend...

Then everyone can start saying how I really shouldn't have blocked up the front quarter windows...

I might be a proper tutorial on fibreglassing kickwells, My 6.5's are now nicely angled in some fibreglass pods.. Plus I've retrimmed the entire kickwell trimpanel from under the dash to level with the seat... I estimate it cost about £20 for fibreglass, a couple of pounds for MDF and £6.5 + some contact adhesive to trim them... Well worth it...

I reckon I could make another set in a day now I've done it once, the joys of fibreglass...

Mason, I do hope you get round to taking some pictures of your install. Very interesting, imo.

I currently have my tweeters 'inside' the quarter windows too, but since they're only small one (and not your 1 kg monsters!) they do not block the view.

My most recent setup (and still not happy under all circumstances)
Front:
- JVC KD-SH909RB headunit (CD, MP3, angled face)
- Intertecnik CN230 2-way filter @ 2500Hz, with following speakers
- Vifa D26 NC 05-06 tweeters mounted on dash (on 'rods') in quarter window
- Infinity Kappa 63.1i 3-way (mid/low only) mounted in stock location

Rear:
- Infinity Kappa 13cm speakers in rear door (with capacitor to cut the lowest frequencies)

Boot:
- Fenton Acoustics 2x240w amp (strange brand, good specs though)
- Fenton Acoustics 12 inch sub in 40l DIY bass reflex box (bridged setup)

All speaker cabling made by Monster. Front door's trim stuffed with BAF dampening material. Lead bitumen on inner metal surfaces.

Bass is impressive, but can sometimes lack the 'dry' and firm response that I like to have.
Mid-bass is sometimes accentuated way too much, especially some guitar and male voices. Can't work it out...
Highs are great. Imaging too, except for the lousy mids every now and then.
I find the A2 to be a very troublesome car....with respect to audio! ;) But maybe I shouldn't try to create a setup that sounds good for both Faithless and Coldplay....!

SWIV, you need to get over here and listen to the A2 now that I have her signing and dancing to any tune that I play her.

After months of hard work and loads of tweaking, I am at last, very happy with the way the car sounds.

It is a very full range sound that just places you in the centre of a musical orgasam.

You can throw classical music or jazz to soul or heavy reggae at it and every time you get a faithful [ I think so] reproduction of some quality music.

I do wish more people could hear this babe as her voice is sweet.

I did need to rely on time alignment to get a near perfect centre and off centre stage with good left and right focus, but, it has paid off as when you sit in the passenger seat you get almost the same experience as the driver.

Erskine, I know for sure that your setup is incredibly impressive. No wonder, given your investment both equipment- and effort-wise! ;)

If I ever decide to plan a holiday in England or Scotland, I'll probably ask around on this forum anyway. If I happen to pass by, I'd love to hear it!
But, this year I'm off to Nothern Italy and Switzerland. A detour through the UK would loose me too much time! :) Thanks for your offer, though!

My 'wannabee' system will have to do for now. I'm in the process of buying a new house, which definitely needs redecoration and some remodelling too. Clash of priorities there!
