Space saver bracket

I've attempted to fit the bracket but have no screw threads.

This picture shows the existing threads at the bottom of the battery. The Screws for the top of the bracket fit in these threads.
However, the holes that match the top of the bracket have no threads.

Is there a fix for this? Are there part numbers for these threads?
The parts person I asked today could find very little, only the divider I've already removed to fit the bracket.

I thought this would be a really simple job, but at this rate I'm thinking of retro fitting sat nav!

Glock, I've had a good root around in ETOS and ETKA, but cannot find reference to that part being available separately, nor is the plastic tray itself a different model for those cars with a spare wheel.

I think that this is another example of why the A2 was so expensive to make - all parts were produced to spec, with no commonality between them - i.e. they left out the threads at the manufacture stage!

What I'd do in your position is to get some M8 nuts and press them in as well as you can, putting a dab of epoxy in first. Coat your bolt (should be an M8 x 12mm) in beeswax and loosely screw it in. When the epoxy is set, you should be able to take out the bolt, clean off the wax and then put it back in and toque it up.

Cheers,

Mike

Thank you both.

Mike, I think your suggestion will be next after the stealer tries.
I've sent them the same pics to see if they can get the parts, failing that, it's a trip to the local hardware store!
