stafford audi - cam belt change

Hello all, just wondering if anyone has used stafford audi to get cam belt and tensioner done

they have an offer on ebay £275 at mo

I am getting a bit twitchy as whilst my 2002 tdi has done only 36k with FASH, also been variable serviced three times everything done (mad I know!and at last service at 25k they said ' cam belt change n/a'), I want the peace of mind - as when it goes (paid £3k for a new VW passat engine) it hurts!

The price seems bloody good at £275 and I was going to book in but thought I would check the oracle first

Also what else should I get done at same time, v belt and water pump?

Hi Glen

Audi normally recommend the small idler roller and tensioner pulley are changed with the belt so this should be the minimum the garage fit.
Its also worth doing the water pump at the same time as this only costs around £25 exchange plus a bit of extra labour and new anti freeze. Same applies to the alternator belt, just ask for the old one back as a spare

ta all, just noticed someone else has has posted on same issue
it does say 4 cylinder models I know but doesn't say petrol or diesel, could ask for a 25% discount for our 3 cyl tdi (if only!)
will call stafford audi and find out current offering

Take the offer with both hands - 2001 A2 done a few months back by them perfect job and all in price. Recommended a new water pump - supplied and fitted for £70 at the same time.

Try a price match with your Audi main dealer near you - we did and they said it would not even cover the labour costs! No prizes for guessing where we went.

Just had my A2 tdi serviced by Stafford Audi and I highly recommend them.
Long life service cost £199 plus £55 inclusive for brake fluid change which I decided upon on the day. Also did a visual inspection of the cambelt at my request and noted a broken rear spring plus several fault codes which were cleared. They even left a full litre of Shell Helix long life oil in the boot and the car was valeted inside and out with the tyres blacked.

My experience with them suggests that they will probably price match for the cambelt change on the diesel as that's the price they quoted me and I will be taking it to them for it next year.
