How hard is to replace a starter motor

Hi,
Take the water drain cup off so you don't damage it.

Disconnect battery
Remove the

Electrics​

Jack up passenger side of the car.
Use an axle stand, then take off undertray.
Under the car remove starter earth cable and lower bolt.

Back up top remove upper bolt.

Used spanners, ratchet, sockets and extender bars.

Job done.

I didn't remove the gear selector or the air con drier like the manual shows

If its never been off it might be "frozen" on to the box, I hit mine with a hammer onto a substantial piece of wood. I fitted the new one then looked at the old one to see if it could be cleaned to stop the horrid noise only to find the starter casing had been damaged upon removal but not much else I could have done

It was the wood that impacted it in fairness but boy was it stuck! Must have been on from new so almost 20 years at the time. Think I was just unlucky!
