Get it done guys! You wont regret it :)

Lets just say, in my stealth remapped A2 i had a slight encounter with a BMW 2.8i this morning and the bm got 'owned' :D

when I phone'd a few today, it was £225+vat?

what do you know that I don't :)

I'm really tempted! But a bit worried about my mileage 130,000??

I had my A2 remapped today, and the improvement is great. Overtaking other cars is easily done now and motorway driving is wicked. Best money i spent in a long time.

How different is it on the motorway? All my driving is motorway, I'm tempted to get it done, but 50% of me thinks it's a waste of loot, and I can use the money to increase my plasma fund!

did you have the rolling road remap or the cheapy, presume you had stealth do it??

I have just come back from a two day break in the Isle of Wight (no I didn't go to the music festival) and I have definitely decided to go for a re-map after struggling up some of the hills over there. I am also tempted to get the Koni FSD fitted after bouncing around over the bumpy back roads. All I have to do now is start saving.

P.S. Met a nice chap who lives over there with a silver A2 - he looks at the forum but doesn't post very much. Hello!

No, its no wast of money, and the improvement is very very very noticable

I do moterway and backroads, (very hilly) and I am glad i did it

the car is so much smoother, and so much quicker of its place, accelaration on the moterway is mind blowing, it holds it top speed so much better (due to increased torq)

Would i do it again- yes

The money spend is quickly forgotten, but the joy of the car is an everyday experience

You won't regret it!

Power went up from 87.5 bhp to 106.2 and torque from 168.3 to 179 lb/ft. After the initial custom map it gave 108 bhp and 185+ torque but opted for a milder tune and a smoother power curve. It's the way it delivers it that's most impressive - a much wider power band and the engine feels and sounds smoother.

I was a bit conerned about the increase in fuel consumption, and it has to be said you will use a fair bit more of fuel if you use the performance on tap. But cruising at steady motorway speeds I'm seeing an improvement. It did 64.5 mpg on a 150 mile motorway round trip last week and since then with a mix of town driving has settled at 58.

It transforms the car - much better to drive!

I have to agree with the majority!!

The remapped torque curve transforms the driving experience with improved throttle response at low and mid range and whilst fuel economy could suffer, (with the added temptation to bury the right foot); if sensible, fuel figures and engine longevity could improve; as there is not the same need or tendency to rev as hard. Should you choose to be heavy footed; then the engine pulls smoothly and actually wants to try for the red line, which is something that the standard mapping didn't encourage.

The initial outlay is soon forgotten as the driving experience more than makes up for it. For me Stealth did an exceptional job in transforming a lack lustre remap from another source. I have no hesitation in recommending them or encouraging people to opt for a remap in the first place.

Cheers,

Darren

And if anyone further north wants to enjoy the benefits of a re-mapped A2, then don't forget you can get a similar service from Awesome (www.awesome-gti.co.uk) who are based in Irlam, half-way between Manchester and Warrington.

Once the competition has closed, I'll do a full write-up of their service, which has taken Tank to new heights.

Cheers,

Mike

I would be interested to hear peoples' views regarding re-mapping versus engine chipping. The reason I ask is because Awesome GTI are considerably nearer to me (just up the road past Warrington) as opposed to Stealth Racing, who are a long day's drive away - but Awesome GTI only seem to offer an engine chip, whereas Stealth have either a chip or a custom re-map service. What will be the difference ? I am only looking for increased "driveability", i.e. improved torque spread, rather than out and out power increase.
