Stereo & speaker replacement questions...

Yep, that sounds right - the blue lead is always just a 'trigger' for amps, electric aerials, etc, that all have their own power feed!

Ok, so I did get the old rubbish out and the new h/u in over the easter weekend.
The wiring is a bit of a faf (always forget how much I hate interior work!), but it all works!
Weirdly, the aerial adaptor that came with the new loom had a blue lead coming off of it, which needs connecting to the 'amp rem' trigger, to get any radio reception! The standard aerial lead must include a power trigger somehow!
The dash trim / fascia pieces I managed to trim to fit (ish) and screw them in so they sort of look ok. Not brilliant, considering I paid for them!
Also swapped around some speakers so I've got a working standard setup in the front, for now at least.
Put all the knackered bits in the rear doors for now, but they can be moved back from the front, when I get a chance to put something decent in!

I'm not a big fan of the h/u I've put in to be honest, but the sound quality is good and it was 'free' (from another car I've got sat here) and will mostly sit on bluetooth anyway - at least it illuminates the right colour!
It's not seated properly yet, as I have yet to run the dab aerial, rca's or phone mic yet, so it'll be in and out!!!

It's the standard radio that outputs 12 V on the antenna cable. Aftermarket radios don't, hence the blue lead.
Mac.
