hi all, my name is Mark and I'm from Devon. As I'm looking for my first A2 I thought joining the fountain of all A2 knowledge was a good idea. I have a tight budget of £900 max so finding anything half decent is so far been a struggle. I'm fine doing all things service related on cars as well as brakes, suspension ect so not worried about that, just need to find something that doesn't look like it was an extra in the mad max films. Anyway this seems a great forum so I look forward to learning about the A2 and hopefully finding one sooner rather than later.

Worth adding if you are looking for a tdi , petrol 1.4 or petrol 1.6

Welcome! I’m in Honiton, there’s a few of us from the South-West who are active on here.

If you don’t mind a 1.4 petrol you should be able to bag a good one, maybe even a serviceable TDI could be in reach, if you don’t mind some work.

I'd prefer a TDI for the economy and road tax, the petrol 1.4 I've looked at but just not sure about. I think if I found a decent enough A2 that would win over what engine it has.

I'm in Ivybridge near Plymouth so not far from you. Hope to have a car soon to join you all after lockdown.
