strange spots on glass and door pillar

hey dudes,

our a2 is a few months old. I noticed some spots the first few days we had it but thought it was just dirt etc...

the spots are still there and i can't clean them...

The glass has spots on it, i have tried window cleaner, fairy washing up liquid and car wash stuff...

there are similar looking spots on the rear air fin/spoiler.

also, a different "style" of spots are on the left side door pillar, the black bit between the front and rear doors...

anyone else have this?

should we take it back to the dealer?

the car was treated with the Jewel Ultra Diamond Bright stuff by the dealer...

Hi Gerard,
I'd take it back to the dealer for them to sort out.
Were the spots there on delivery or have they just appeared?
Do you park your car under trees, cos sometimes you get sap all sorts dropping on to the car.

The only spots I ever get that are remotely like yours are when I've washed the car in the sun and it dries before I've had a chance to chammy it. Once dried with a chamois leather they do go. Hope this helps.

Apparently the best thing for removing bugs and things from car windows is to clean them with meths (the purple stuff). You could always try this to save you going back to the dealer.

In the recent hot weather I made the mistake of washing the car. It dried as fast I was washing it. Even when I leathered it of, very similar marks were left to yours Gerard.

It took a few more washes for them to go-in fact I had to use plastic restorer on the bottom bumper etc to remove the water stains.

Does the dealer live in a hard water area?

Anyway-it's the dealer to sort-just make sure you don't admit to any full sun, 100f, car washing!

Hi Gerard,

Did you ever get to the bottom of the strange spots and remedy them or are they still there. If you did sort them out then what with as I think I've got a few similar ones on the black rear quarter window surround.
