Sun Visor Assistance!!

Having just spent the weekend at Chatsworth camping, my 'special edition' model highlighted a rather disappointing Audi cost cutting exercise when my wife tried to put in her contact lenses in the passenger seat. The sun visor on the passenger side is 'basic' in every sense of the word and does not contain a mirror. A quick shuffle from one seat to the other soon rectified this, but I want to avoid similar issues in the future and intend to purchase a replacement part forthwith.

I realise that the visor fitted to the 'SE' model probably comes with all of the gubbins to activate the interior light when the mirror is deployed, so I acknowledge that there are at least three variants if you count my 'basic' one. The question is "am I right to presume that all headlining interiors are a standard colour?" I know that the genuine European S-Line, (and Tank), have the black headlining, but is the remaining model range made up of the standard colouring?

Any advice to assist before I submit an email to Vagparts would be most appreciated.

Many thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Darren

Hold on there - I have a couple of SE spec visors in the garage if you want them, mirrors on both. They are the standard light grey colour.

Mike

Since my last post on this, I've looked up the part on ETKA and to my surprise (yours too) there is no part listed that DOESN'T have a mirror!!

Yes, both passenger and sriver sides have mirrors on all versions.

There are 3 versions too:sun visor with mirror and cover, sun visor with illuminated mirror and cover and finally sun visor with illuminated mirror and cover fro vehicles with sliding glass roof.

They were available in 3 colours: platinum (light grey), twist (beige) and soul (black).

Prices - £54.44 inc VAT each.

Cheers,

Mike

Hi Mike,

Many thanks for the reply. Reference above... I like to be different!! I guess the role out 'special edition' must have had some last minute cost saving options fitted that aren't part of the wider ETKA catalogue??!! Though scrimping on a mirror... what kind of savings can be had...

With the price of a new visor bordering on obscene, I may well be interested in securing your kind offer Mike or leaving well alone. (Well at least I have a mirror... :D).

What kind of figure do you have in mind? (PM may be best!!).

Thanks again buddy!!

Cheers,

Darren

I hope you've remembered that you have to PULL the mirror down. Or, it fell off. But my Petrol '00 is almost barebones-basic (save for Climatronic) and both of the sun visors have mirrors.

Hi Tigas,

There was definitely no mirror in my passenger sun visor - but there is now thanks to Mike. :D

A strange one this indeed.
