Hi Guys,

I have the touch of death! after successfully doing the mod on my car using this mod...

https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/unswitched-12-volts-required.40933/

Unfortunately my sunroof is no longer working :( i've checked the fuse at number 8, which reads horn, sunroof but it does not work. I did have a blonde moment and connected the wrong wire for a split second so who knows what the hell i've done. The mod is a part mixure of damageruk's and olerype and is working fine with my dashcam.

I hope i havent seriously damaged something :/

Any help appreciated

Thanks!

Was the mod to disable your sunroof?

Sorry buddy. Had to!

I've had this problem when doing an auto dim mirror, I just unplugged the battery and plugged it back in, all was well after that.

How long did you disconnect the main battery for Kleynie? Will i have issues with RSNE unit if i disconnect? will i need to re-input code?

That Allankey; if that is for emergency manual closing of the sunroof, hats off for Audi!

Only a few minutes, and yes, you will need to be input the code, other than that I can't imagine you'd have other issues.

Hi,

If it ends up being a faulty switch I have a good complete unit available here if need be ;)

I'm just outside Kirkcaldy so if you wanted to come across and try it first to see if it makes any difference plus I've got a breaker with a working roof so would have all the bits to swap out

Ok i will try the battery disconnect first and take it from there! I will PM you Icowie once i've done this....i just hope it's nothing simple/stupid :/

Cheers

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious but one way or another we should manage to get it sorted

i disconnected battery and reconnected after a few minutes. I only disconnected the negative terminal was this ok to do? anyways, when i connected it back up and tried the switch i could hear a clicking noise but no movement from the sunroof. As soon as plugged in the earphone connection...not sure what this is....alarm? it stopped clicking.

i didn't need to input code for RSNE...is this normal?

any ideas whats wrong now?

Disconnecting the earth would work to isolate the power. When you say clicking was it a continuous clicking or just once when you pressed the open and close switch?

i think it was continuous clicking like you say but you have me in doubt now lol if it is continuous does this mean the switch is knackered?

Clicking almost always means a broken roof. You will need to try and calibrate it to confirm, hold the close button for the roof for 10 seconds, it should click, then make no noise for about 9 seconds, and then click again, but quieter. If it keeps clicking while you do this, it's broken.

Yes that's what I thought a continuous clicking means trouble but is that caused by broken teeth on the motor or a snapped cable?
