Sounds good but those headlights look a little yellow. That is an easy DIY job for your list.
That's good advice, ? I didn't mention mine were a real mess with crackled surface prior to sandingI would avoid the sanding as too easy to go too far or damage the paintwork. The only time I sand the headlights first is if someone has refinished them before and used a hard lacquer that is now crazed. Every other time I just use the Mothers and concentrate a little more on the worst areas. I apply three times and either finish with a UV protectant or two layers of a GOOD carnauba wax product.
Can I ask a quick question - did it come with seals and gaskets or do these need to be ordered separately? Just ordering one now so want to make sure I have all the parts. Thanks!I got my Bosch one from Autodoc a few weeks ago, £143 delivered. Their discounts vary each day and it is cheaper if you order on the app. Postage from Germany included and arrived within about a week, can definitely recommend them. Hope that helps...

Hi Fiona, you do need a metal mounting gasket as the pump doesn't come with it. On Autodoc use Elring p/n 876.661 as search, not expensive and this is a good quality gasket. Can I ask a quick question - did it come with seals and gaskets or do these need to be ordered separately? Monday seems to be the cheapest day to order with Autodoc as their discounts vary quite a bit. Make sure you use the app too - even cheaper...
My headlights were dreadful, yellow and completely hazed. I used meguiars headlight restoration kit and it was brilliant! Bit of elbow grease but the results were worth it. Coating wasn't fully dry in the after pic, so it cleared more. Plus I can see where I'm going in the dark now...bonus.That's good advice, ? This is good stuff. I tried this first on mine but it didn't have any effect at all - mine were too far gone. I use this now as maintenance after the Meguiars treatment. My preferred product is still

For restoring headlights, much less faff involved.
You're better at it than I was. Think I need another go at mine with same kit.My headlights were dreadful, yellow and completely hazed. I used meguiars headlight restoration kit and it was brilliant! Thats me then! Damn, yup lots of crackly bits on surface IIRCThe issue normally is if someone has already had a go at restoring them and applied lacquer onto them. The lacquer has to be removed first which can be hard going.
I have mothers ready for round two, will borrow a decent da sander polisher thing too next timeNo not just you. It can be difficult to get a good surface finish with lacquer. Most of the lacquers that tend to get applied to the headlights are just not suitable. I do not lacquer but previously applied a UV sealer that now looks to be discontinued. A good clean and decent car waxing frequently is all I do now to the lights until I want to retreat with the Mother's.
