TDI 90 ATL Turbo - auxiliary parts required?

I'm looking to get the Turbo replaced now it seems on my TDI90. Its starting to spit out / use more oil so I'm planning in what needs to be replaced when I change it over.

I'm planning on a refurb / exchange - that bit is certain.

I hear I also though need to consider some of the following so would be good if someone has done this or is aware of below, or has anything to add:

  1. Turbo pipe - the one that is meant to be replaced when the turbo is replaced. Any idea of part would be good
  2. Bolts?
  3. Banjo bolts?
  4. Gasket set - assuming this would fit the bill? Gaskets
Thanks - would hope this can become a sticky / how-to if appropriate.

I would certainly replace the oil lines while you are there, get the inlet and manifold professionally cleaned also

Since last oil change (8000 miles) its lost around 1.5 litres - I'm guessing a good chunk of that has been burnt

Thanks, I top up with 0,5 liter between the 9300 miles serviceinterval. Has been like that the last 40000 miles. Car at 115kmiles

Quickie on this one sir. The 66kw ATL turbo comes built in to what looks to me like a manifold so I'd assume a refurbed turbo would cover this aspect off? In relation to inlet if both pipes are replaced with new then it's good?

I'd love to mate I just fear for the additional work required to get the rest of the internals to match the increased bhp and torque

From memory the gearbox has a fair bit of headroom in stock config and even with the 120bhp remap it is still within spec torque wise? Don't quote me but I'm sure someone had posted a spec sheet for it on the forum.

When my project pepparami was running 160hp the gearbox and dmf where just about managing with it as long as I wasn't stupid with the accelerator.

Which reminds me steve...a mate of mine mentioned a certain metallic brown a2 was spotted on the edinburgh city bypass at the weekend...small world :)

Beginning collection of parts in preparation. New threaded union between oil pipe and turbo. £20!

Just wondering which supplier/rebuilder did you go with and how much it all came to?

As i'll need to do it as well sometime soon would be great to know your list of parts for readiness and have a read through, as got annoyed doing my gearbox having to run get bits and bops and getting stuck because of it.

Ok so I've still got 2 pipes listed above to come in, plus a threaded union on order via tps. Threaded unions only seem to come in oem form. Saying that I note the turbo gasket set came with a washer so I may have got away without. I'm not going to gamble and will keep hold.

Hats off to the turbo supplier. Came complete with gaskets on ebay from latvia for a knock down 228gbp. Next day delivery I may add from Latvia!

Turbo refurb from outside looks good and comes with a 1 year warranty.

Ebay refurb atl turbo

Ok think 1 last thing to cover off and I'm struggling with 7zap to find required parts guidance. I've seen reference to refreshed copper nuts for fitting of the turbo. Anyone have any info on this aspect?
