Howdy folks!

Would anybody know if the engine end of the feed tube from the service panel is simple push fit?

Mine was totally out and has a smooth silver tube at the end which I have pushed back in to the what i presume is the oil filter housing and appears to be ok now (fingers crossed)

Many thanks

Howey/Ami , I seem to have the same oil leak, do you get leakage when filling oil from the service panel, and I also get loss of oil when I’m on a downward facing slope

No since pushing back in and indeed on last Fridays service I have had no further oil leaks thankfully but still a bit confused as to how it actually works

On my last service refilling the oil was a disaster it seemed to be coming out as quick as I was putting it in, so I fillled it through the oil filter, but it now seems to be leaking again especially facing down a slope, was the pipe you sorted out accessible from the top, or is it a job from below, ??

From the top by feel as vision seemed impossible I must have got lucky, dislodged it during thermostat replacement

I’ll try the touchy-feely thing first, and incidentally I changed my thermostat too recently, I hope the clip hasn’t gone missing ,cheers H and Audifan

Hi
if you remove plastic clip then the push the ring which is around the tube towards engine should come out, a touch tricky because your working blind but should come out then. Or you can remove oil filter housing 4 bolts which a 6mm Allen key on a socket should fit and 1 10mm to the dipstick tube, I’d replace the metal gasket if u go this route there same as a 19pd and only £5 I know this because I done one last week.

cheers Tom

Oil pipe sorted, apparently it was completely snapped off my local garage done it for me they repaired it, another problem which this has solved , is the regular warning lights , abs, yellow triangle, alternator light, and the big yellow one in the middle, which tends to make you think the wheel sensors are faulty, the are peacefully now out. many thanks all ,embers.
