TDI engine undertray insulation

Is there any noticeable difference in noise (outside/inside) with tdi undertray with and without noise insulation foam?

Yes it makes a big difference to drive by noise. In the car I don't recal any difference.

I am asking because oem with noise insulation foam costs two times more than non oem without insulation (for petrol).

Never tried a petrol under tray on a my diesel. Driven it a few times without a tray that's how I know it's noisier outside.

Perhaps somebody will be along soon who has tried it but I would have thought diesel without tray would be very similar to diesel fitted with petrol car tray. If your car is a keeper I would get the correct tray otherwise fit non OEM. In my experience non OEM do not last.

Where i live OEM diesel undertray costs 50 EUR and non OEM (petrol) costs 20 EUR. I would choose cheaper option but want to lower the TDI noise while leaving the car to warm up in cold winter mornings.
