TDi Fuel filter drain plug thread..

yes echoing Audifan's words, the plastic drain screw really is a rubbish design, even if you end up buying a new filter housing that will come with a new plastic screw I would though the screw in the trash and fit an aluminium one for trouble free operation new and in the future
I have stock of them if you want one, sending to Italy is no problem but I would need to get a postage cost for you

Cheers,
Paul
thank you, but it is not the bleeding screw that I can not unscrew but the cap to replace the filter

Yes we are fully aware it is the actual filter cover that you can not remove. What we are saying is regardless if you manage to remove the cover or indeed need a new filter housing that the little plastic drain screw should not be used. It should be replaced with a metal one manufactured by Paul. This upgrade will save lots of problems as the plastic one tends to get over tightened stretching the threads and shearing off either when you go to remove it or when refitting it at the end.

I must be the the luckiest multi A2 owner ever, I've never had a problem with fuel filters, I must have the magic touch.

Ok let me know if you need any help with the cc

Dear depronman,

Let me introduce myself. I live in Amstrerdam and own a 66kw tdi from 2005 with more than 200 k miles on it.
It still runs great, but when I recently wanted to change the diesel filter, I found out that my garage had broken the plastic diesel filter TDI Fuel drain screw (years ago). A replacement part is no longer available in the Netherlands.

While searching the internet I found out that you have made an aluminium replacement. Better!

Since I would like to keep my classic on the road, I would like to ask you if it is possible to buy one an aluminium TDI Fuel drain screw from you.

Please find a foto of my A2 on a recent read trip to Romenia, attached.

Best regards,

Erik
