Temperature light coming on while driving

Eeek!
Says in the manual that this is the water pump not working - it comes on momentarily and the temp showing on the dash is at its normal level (about 90).

I take it that the manual is telling me the truth? :)

TDi 90 on an 04 plate btw.

Assuming it's that - any ideas on cost for having it done at an independent? Ball park figure job, I have no idea!

Thanks.

Forgot to mention that spike, sorry. Yes, coolant level is fine and the coolant itself looks a healthy orange colour, no bits. Right so this could just be the sensor - makes sense if the temp is staying at 90 I guess. Will get it checked out or if you happen to know where the sensor plug is I'll check the connections. I'll go do a search on here. Thank you.

Incidentally, is this the OAT coolant?

Is it a known thing for the water level indicator to be a bit sensitive? I looked again on a flatter surface (the driveway's not far off) and when the engine was flat cold (I had looked after a couple of hours driving) and noticed it was right on the minimum. Topped up and it's done 20 miles today without the light coming on. I was starting to think this was just schoolboy error type stuff but I can't have put more than 100ml in the header tank.
