Hi

In the mornings or usually when the car has been cold for a few
hours the temp warning beeps and flashes until the car warms up after
a few mins then it dissapears, once slighlty warm the warning never appears only when it is cold. I have had a thermostat fitted on thursday lastweek.

Any ideas what could be causing this, the car does not overheat
 
Coolant level

I've had the same problem. Usually resolves if you top up coolant - low in reservoir until coolant warms and expands then level sensor not activated.

Try this first and if you're having to top up regularly then wonder about a leak- reservoir cap a good place to start - lookout for deposit around the cap.

i have checked and the coolant is on max...and i did top up slightly

i could try and fill it bit more but is already on max
 
yes the time i topped it slightly the car was cold...does it matter if you top up with coolant more than the max level?
