As you may be aware, just over 12 months ago I stated that the club and both websites would be shut down at the end of October 2005 unless an offer was made to buy the club. This was because my wife gave birth to twins earlier this year and so my beloved A2 went to a new home and was replaced by the not so dynamic but super practical VW Touran!
There were a few offers made to buy the club but unfortunately they fell through; however in recent months a dedicated group of forum users have come together and become the new owners. Some of them will be very active in the running of the club and others you may never hear from! Nonetheless, they have saved this forum and the club from extinction and I am very grateful to them for that.
All the new co-owners have been given 'moderator' or 'boss' status so you will spot them around the forum more easily. The transfer of the club to it's new owners will take place over the next few weeks and gradually you'll see less and less of me! I'm sure the new owners will give a welcome message once the transfer has been completed.
On a final note and although I'll still be dropping by fairly regularly, I'd like to say what a pleasure it has been over the past few years to have run such a friendly forum and to have met some of you at past events. I sincerely hope that the forum continues to grow and that the club and all it's benefits can be brought back to how they were a year or so ago.
