£38000 for a Citroën!!! And worth about £12000 the moment you drive off the dealer forecourt… This must be the fastest way ever to burn money.

I saw this thing at the Paris Motor Show and it left me cold. Ho-hum exterior and a truly nasty interior. At least Renault gave the Val Satis a bespoke and beautiful interior and centre console… This beast gets the standard nasty Pug 407 centre console and the hideous asymmetrical PAS radio… Urgh… And they want nearly £40000 for it!!! And can you still buy a Val Satis? What are they worth second hand? No and Nothing are the answers to that...

I think each French Embassy in the world will buy one and that will be about it outside of France... Good luck to them is all I can say.

I agree! Though the Pug 607 (a similar class vehicle I think) is very popular here in France. Hardly anyone buys the German equivelant instead.....it just goes to show what brand loyalty can do.

2004 1.4 TDi (90) SE, Cobalt Blue, Climate control, Cruise control, DIS, Sport seats, Winter pack, Symphony II.

These big French cars are only popular in France... and nowhere else. This C6 is actually going to compete in a class ABOVE the 607!!! Your other choices will be Audi A6, Merc E-class, BMW 5 or a VERY highly specced brilliant BMW 3 series... A no brainer really unless you REALLY want to stand out from the crowd (a good thing) and have lots of money to throw away in depreciation (which I suspect no-ones wants to ever do...)

I thought the 607, C6, A6, E-class and 5 series were all in the same group? My pic of the bunch would be the E-class, maybe that's just the old man in me speaking but I really like the interior styling. I'm sure the C6 will be full of technology to compensate for everything else it lacks, but if that all breaks after 12 months who will want the risk....other than the french ;)

607 is cheaper than the Germans and bigger in size... so actually in a class of its own! LOL

Read lunchtime in this week's Autocar that Merc's stalwart seller the E-class has dropped 32% in sales due to quality issues (mainly electronics) and owners deserting the brand for higher quality brands!!! Hmmm... Merc not what it used to be... Few years ago you would write that about Citroën!!! Now it is written about Merc!!! Hmmm

They have to build something like this so their senior execs can be seen driving a Citroen, 605 is the same - imagine a Citroen director being seen driving a BMW!

The Government will buy them for the same reason.
