The Definitive Suspension Parts List

Thanks for that. I hadn’t managed to find that link. I’m not going to worry about the few kg extra from the OSS on the ride height. I don’t know of any ground level enough to notice the difference

Kilen 50194 and Lesjofors 4204247 are sold to replace both 8Z0511115L and 8Z0511115R. They are the same spring, made in the same factory in Sweden. In the UK, Kilen is the more common brand and usually cheaper than the identical Lesjofors.

Choice: 8Z0 412 301 – SE front bump stop or 8Z0 412 301 D - Sport front bump stop (x2)

For the bump stops, it might be better to search for 6Q0412301A rather than 8Z0412301 or 8Z0412301D as very little comes up on autodoc using these two OEM part numbers.

There are four OEM part numbers listed for bump stops on the "Audi Online Parts Catalogue", the other being 8Z0412301C.

If you search for 6Q0412301A, 56 mm front rubber stops comes up.They are for 1.2TDI.

For 1.4 Tdi's.

Front rubber stops
8Z0 412 301 D (63 mm)
8Z0 412 301 (74 mm)
8Z0 412 301 C (86 mm)

Looks like aftermarked can`t offer 63 mm at the moment. This is for the G22 comfort build.Short rubber stops for G22 in the front, so the shock abs.can move longer.opposite rear, where rubberstops are longer for the G22 comfort build.(8Z0 512 131 C)

Rear rubber stops
6Q0 512 131 B (123 mm )
8Z0 512 131 C (140mm)

I've slowly been accumulating the parts for a suspension re-fresh. I've got B4s and top mounts, with springs, bump stops and drop links on order. I notice there are two ARB diameters - 16 & 20.8. Short of getting under the car with a calliper, is there another way of establishing which size bushes I need?

A word of warning for those looking to renew their front suspension and considering KYB RH1664 springs. I've posted a more indepth thread here asking for advice on replacement springs but the TL : DR is....

I was under the impression that they would be fine on the heavier TDI model but after a full front end rebuild (with Monroe Reflex shocks) the car sits comically high, even taking into account a slightly sagging rear end. (2001 1.4 TDI non sunroof model).

I don't know for sure but could it be that the sagging rear is possibly contributing to the high looking front and might actually be the sole problem? ?

A good shout, and definitely something I've considered in the full thread. I just wonder, whilst it might balance things out front to back, it won't fundamentally change the actual height at the front which is way above where it should be. It's booked in for the rear suspension overhaul shortly so will find out either way, although I'm looking for recommendations on alternative front springs in the meantime.

Although it obviously won't bring it down to your desired height, as the car was before you replaced anything (which appears considerably lower than standard to me) I think you will find that it will drop the front down slightly as at the moment it's almost being cantilevered up, like when you have something very heavy in the boot but I suppose as you say you will only tell for sure when the rear is replaced too ?

I’m looking for where to buy suspension bolts - I’m not having luck, is there any good places to find the following?
N 102 078 04 – Bolt (x4) -M12x78 pinch bolts, front shock absorber to wheelbearing housing. paired with N10106402 nut.

Are they crazy money from a dealer? Otherwise I would try to find someone with access to tps. (Trade) the rear ones re likely common to polo's seats etc

I know that Adam Klyne bought the last few that were available when he did mine.

Dealer has said N10207804 is obsolete with no replacement. Must be a new part but I can’t find it at the moment.

Do you mean N10207803?

If so, you might be able to use the following part from the VW Polo MK4...although N10207803 is still available.

I read someone’s post that the bolts came with their top mounts, so I checked my box (Febi) and happy days they are included 👍🏻

I’ve subsequently seen Vagbolts on eBay have some of N10207804 now.
