The inevitable has happened!

The control modules do not need coding so a straight swap. One thing I am not 100% on is are rear controllers universal or are there units for manual windows and for electric rear windows. One the front the drivers door module is a master and the front passenger a slave unit.
Surely the rear can't have them can they as manual windows don't yet use same latch assembly's?

Think the rears are the same on other VAG vehicles like the Golf mk4 as previously discovered

I am running a pair of these rear door locks in my car. Bought when they had a 50% off offer. listed for Seat, Skoda and VW.

Fit and function perfect.

Is the module the electronic part of the lock so did you replace the lock assembly to resolve the issue of is the module part of the window motor?
As @audifan explained it is a different module connected to the window motor.
There are three screws and is easily accesible when you remove the door trim and before removing the alu plate. If you have a replacement module (no coding needed) just replace it and test, since it is easier to get to.
According to my info, cars without rear electric windows, do not have this module.

Full video for replacing it, together with door lock (which in my case was not needed and later I had to replace it back with the original lock, because this replacement unit was faulty :():

Can you share a link to this? It is always handy to have it.

Today's has been a good day, swapped out both front door lock assembly's (ones that lock the doors) this cured passenger front locking issue and drivers door now shows when it's open and closed.
Fitted my spare Q cccu to try and get the b pillar switches to work correctly and not be permanently powered but got no joy. Checked all fuses. 36 turned them off as expected, went for some tea and a think...

The thought then dawned on me. I don't recall anyone ever having this issue quite the opposite as faulty microswitches usually prevent the power to the B pillar switches. It's not incomprehensible that someone may have thought to bodge it and permanently wire it? A quick check found an additional wire going to the drivers A pillar earth point (badly wired at that). Disconnected it and bingo all is well!!

Presume the switches are earth switched?

Proper chuffed!!

Ah the garage of Bodge It and Scarper had struck again! Trouble is you then get paranoid as to what else has been knobbled!

That's the reason I rescued "Battersea" because B I &S hadn't been there! No service at all for ten years, Just MOT's and advisories! Full main dealer for the first ten years. The list of what needed sorting was somewhat lengthy, but at least that way you know what you've fixed and more importantly who by.

Also helped by being ebony with swing sports interior, hard touch everything, double din dash, sports steering wheel, 1.4 AUA petrol. Many thanks to all those who have helped me turn this car into the delight it is today. Couldn't have been done without the A2 owners club.

Credits: @timmus @Proghound @A2Steve @depronman @Ami @sciroccorrado @2work B&F Autos, TPS, Wheatley Tyres and a good few more, not forgetting Alan Geater Trimmers for the "sat up" sports seat bolster.

Any chance you took a picture of the extra wire?

It runs down the sill trim with the loom and was wrapped around the earth loop, not too sure how that trim comes off but would be interesting to see how it was connected.
Does the sill trim just pull up?
