The new Market is live

Thank you for your patience whilst we made some additional changes to the Market.

The recent forum upgrade has allowed the team to re-think the market as part of improving the look and feel of the site. We have listened to the comments from the initial changes and removed the template. Please give the market changes time to settle in and you will hopefully see the benefits of the new format.

The new format now provides members with a choice.
  • Those that are interested in the Market can elect to view the adverts or the market specific “New posts” section.
  • Those not interested in the Market can simply ignore it, adverts will not be allowed within the main forum pages and “New posts” of adverts will not appear on the main forum “new posts” tab.
It also keeps the adverts easy to find and easy to read.

Please review the updated Market Rules pages and familiarise yourself with the way adverts are split across 2 threads.

The Market rules are the same regardless of whether you are an established, occasional or first-time seller on A2OC. We realise that members who break A2s that are beyond economic repair and which cannot be sensibly put back on the road do provide a valuable service to members. They provide a whole range of parts from basic items to extremely rare and popular parts. We do ask that all sellers try to price their items at 'members prices' in keeping with the club spirit.
The breaking of roadworthy or salvageable cars, however, is not within the spirit or ethics of the club or its members. A2OC does not promote such activity or condone it. The team reserve the right to remove members identified as doing so. By agreeing to the terms of sale on A2OC, members are accepting these conditions.
Adverts in the "old" Market became very cluttered with well-intentioned replies, comments and swerves, causing the advert itself to become cluttered and often lost in the long resulting thread.

A lot of time and effort has been invested by the team to review and improve the market experience. We would also like to thank Ben our technical expert for advising on options and making the relevant changes.

The market is a facility that helps enable our members to maintain and improve their cars. This is not a commercial section.

Thanks
