The quest for the highest spec A2 1.2 eco limousine..

To hazard a guess, the car re-locking sounds like a CCCU issue. You could do with the opinion of someone like @timmus on this one. I do know that the offside mirror dipping in reverse is a feature of ColourDIS though.

Many thanks, I will try to contact Tom who also initially did all the installations

I would like to upgrade my A2 with backsense.
Should the CCM be exchanged for another model to be able to display in the RNS-E 193 B

Integrating rear PDC sensors to display on the RNS-E screen is something that another Tom - @2work - has done a lot of research on. From what I understand, I don't think that needs the CCCU upgrading, but it would need some custom firmware in the RNS-E and I imagine some extra wiring. I'll leave it for Tom to start a conversation with you if he can help.

Evening Ian,

Yes this function/display is entirely possible which was fist ever seen in Project OEM. Stuart at the https://rnse.pcbbc.co.uk/ website spent many hours perfecting this for me, I’ll alway be grateful for the time he dedicated on my request.

This feature of course has nothing to do with the CCCU though as you rightly point out. The method to add the rear OPS/PDC display on the RNS-E PU is via an Arduino, K-line chip and a specific sketch to pull it all together.

Neils @NielsOe, below is a few links to read through from the Project OEM thread:

The above posts should give you an idea of what is possible and how it’s done. There are a few A2s that I know of now running this feature and hopefully you’ll be the next one.

There has been rumour of this particular feature coming to ColorMFA for the A2 but I know the creators are not interested in making this feature available for a vehicles that communicate PDC messages via K-line. They have already completed the firmware for vehicles that communicate these specific messages via CAN. There is a way of overcoming this for the A2 though if you’re interested in such a feature after upgrading to such a thing. The very same can also be done on the newer 3DColorMFD variant which I might add in time to Project EUDs screen once it’s fitted, that said as I already have it on the head unit there isn’t a real necessity for it within the instrument cluster, but that’s not stopped me pioneering things before.

Hope this helps you out and please do get in touch if you have any further questions regards supply of the required parts to enable this on your RNS-E PU.

Kind regards,

Tom
