Passenger side front spring broke yesterday a month after the drivers side!!

I'm very annoyed.

Car is getting booked in this week for spring, Cam belt and water pump.

The private plate is coming off and the car is going up for sale!!

Love the car but Sheffield roads just aren't the place for an A2 Sport!

Sorry to hear your decision, Huddersfield roads are not much fun for a sport A2 either. Have you thought about FSD's? They do help! It seems a pity to have to sell such a well specced and therefore desirable A2.

When I had a cracked spring replaced they recommended changing both sides, there's just too many speed bumps around!

I'm with Dr Jones: I had a cracked (rear) spring on a previous Audi a few years ago, and changed both as a matter of course - failure of one means the other is likely.

I'm also surprised you can't make a claim against your local council, if the roads are genuinely that poor. I had an incident last winter where I struck a pothole which broke the alloy wheel. I claimed against the council who paid up in full (and then some).

I would have thought it would be cheaper to try 16"s, with FSDs/Weitecs than sell and buy another car, but In any case it sounds like your mind is made up, which is a shame as yours is a nice looking car. Would you still like to sell me those Bose speaker grilles considering you don't have a Bose amp or sub in there, wouldn't want to mis-lead a future buyer?!

 You're a tenacious so and so Dan! Gotta admire your persistance though. If I source some first I think I'll have to let you have 'em! :D

Sorry the grilles are going with the car i'm afraid. I've advertised is as having door speakers but no amp or sub. I think that is transparent enough definitely don't want to mislead anyone!

I'll leave it to the new owner to decide if having only the door speakers constitutes removing the grilles.

Cheers Paul
