Looking forward to this Steve,
Myself and Carole look forward to meeting some new/old faces, we've booked 3 nights to save a long slap home on the Sunday after driving anyway, and travel home Monday, will post up our bookings tomorrow should anyone else be interested!
Cheers Jeff

You seem to have fallen for Wales Sarge. Plenty of lovely houses down here at very reasomable prices. Imagine if the two parts guys lived close together and what we could achieve :)

Right if thats the game I'm moving to Wales too

LOL.... One from Scotland, one from England and one from Wales....together we'll take over UK :)

That's great Jeff. Have you booked the saturday night at Aberystwyth? And where have you booked the sunday night for? West wales or back down south? It will help.me with my plans.

Hi steve,
Here's where I've booked:
Friday night: Holiday inn express in Lakeside Drive, Newport, £65.99 with breakfast inc.
Sat night: The Starling Cloud by Marstons inns, Parc-Llyn, Aberystwyth SY23 3TL £70 inc breakfast!
The Sunday I've opted for driving a hour and a half homeward bound to shorten the journey Monday so it's:
Premier inn, Llanelli Central East, £29.50 no breakfast!
Hope this helps mate!
Cheers Jeff

Right guys. For those who want to stay the extra night I.e Sunday night.

Our final stop off as a group will be at Newgale sands on the sunday.

Due to this being a very popular tourist location the rooms are already filling up so it's unlikely (depending on numbers) that eveyone will be able to stay in the same location that night.

We will be travelling through St Davids, Solva and then on to Newgale. Any one of those locations would be suitable for the overnight accomodation on the sunday as they are no more than 20 minutes apart from each other. The next biggest town is Haverfordwest a d althougg further out it is in the right direction for heading home.

From these points you will have large main roads that will take you onto the M4 and to the bigger motorway network to get home.

Hi

for the Friday night I have booked into the Wetherspoon Hotel in Brecon (The George).

Not just because I get a staff discount, but because we really liked the standard and the food was amazing (and cheap too)

i have asked them to put aside several rooms just in case anyone else wants to stay there.
It is £79 for a room and that can hold a family too and that is good vslue for money.
breakfast is not included but the price of a breakfast at Wetherspoon hotels is around £3 and great quality.

Brecon is a nice place to walk around too (canal and river are nice)
you would have the option on Saturday morning of either driving to the start point (30 mins) or just waiting in the Brecon car park for the convoy to meet us. It removes 30 minutes of the 90 minute first leg apparently. It would be up to you

there are not many rooms in the hotel, I have one, we have 4 more if anyone is interested..

First come - first served so if you are interested post on here to get your room reserved.

Well that was a struggle...

I have booked us all back into the Premier Inn at Merthyr Tydfil on the Friday evening; that was a doddle. A family room at Aberystwyth on the other hand... wow, what a popular little place. I eventually (read many attempts) managed to secure a room for us with onsite parking, a 30 minute walk to the front or a 5 minute taxi ride away.

As Steve says, get booking as a priority if you haven't yet done so. I honestly can't believe how quickly it has booked up given how far out we are. A popular destination for sure.

As for Sunday, a decision to follow. Can't wait for this to come around now...

Hi Darren. This is why I released the event so early. It's really in demand. The 27th can be in St Davids, Solva, Newgale or Haverfordwest. None of them are that far apart. Or of course you may decide to stay somewhere closer to the M4 for an easier stretch the next day back to MK.

Thanks Steve - I will have to be a bit tentative for a little while as I won't know whether I can get the necessary time off work until I start my new job at the end of October (and then I'd probably give it a week or so before I start requesting time off!)

Also, I'm not too sure how I'm going to react to being 50 - if the current level of panic in me continues to increase, there is a chance that I'll be spending the rest of May either recovering from my party hangover, getting more tattoos, dying my hair rainbow colours or buying a motorbike and joining the Hell's Angels!

I will however confirm as soon as I can!

Thanks for the updates guys. Can I just ask if you are also staying the sunday night and if so in which area.

I realised yesterday that I'm away on holiday until the friday afternoon so this will take some military level suitcase planning in advance :)

We are staying at the Best Western, Lamphey, Pembroke on the Sunday night Steve; Murdo and his family are staying there too.

We often call the A2 a Tardis, with two little ones as well, you may well test that theory to destruction mate; good luck with the Krypton Factor mental agility test (for those of us old enough to recall it).

We are staying on an extra night as well I.e the monday night so will definitely have to take both cars I rhink.

Happy new year all

Now that we are into the new year i'll be working on the route and confirming more details of this A2-Holiday over the coming weeks. There's still time to put your name down as long as you can find accomodation in Aberystwyth for the first night.

This should be a great event with something for all.

Hi Steve I did give coming some serious consideration but given the number of miles I've covered in the last few months plus a question mark over whether the car may let me down given the intermittent issues with EML light (all be I would hope it was gone but I can't back on it) then I'll have to give this one a miss.

Looks like you have a good bunch attending and I'm sure it'll be a terrific event.
