The Welsh social - A jolly around the Welsh mountains

May I add my thanks to A2Steve for all his hard work in planning and running this social. Seems like herding A2 drivers is worse than herding sheep ;)

Great day out meeting like minded enthusiasts, catching up with some I've met before and meeting others for the first time and putting user names to faces. Great weather and scenery to boot. Good venue for lunch.

Also my thanks for Sarge for taking all those great photos and posting them - must be a 100!

The only sheep that got away in our heard was Baaa Baaa SteveB....And I'd have said that in this case, he'd be the black sheep of the A2 family, despite driving a white A2

Good morning folks,

Given the fantastic photography on show, I have elected to piece together a hurried video of mine to save adding another 20 posts to this thread... :p A bit of editing required still for some, a tad dark, but time stipulated the finish.

There is some dash cam video footage at 1 minute 23 secs in, bonnet signing shots and a few family portraits from the young and beautiful Harriet (Steve's eldest), my two stunners (biased) and at the very end Joe and his handsome son Cronus. I will send these to Steve and Joe respectively, if anyone wants a picture in the collection do let me know; drop me a PM.

Thanks again to Steve and to all of you for a brilliant weekend; one which will stay in the memory for some time to come. I can't wait for next year and I am already looking forward to ADI.

Cheers and warmest regards to all,

Darren

Before heading home Tom popped around with Alan in tow to pick up a few parts. I don't think i've had 5 here before. A2's in da hood :)

PS brilliant video Darren, really enjoyed it.

This was a fantastic social.

Steve, thank you so much for organising it. After so much preparation, I'm delighted that the weather was on top form. South Wales was displayed at its best. Thank you to all who took photos/videos and have allowed us to relive the event online.

Steve, thank you also for the doors. I'll hopefully find the time to replace them soon, undoing the mindless vandalism that someone unleashed upon my A2.

I rather like the collection of A2s outside your house. It's a good job the neighbours were away! I believe I was remapping Alan's ECU in the boot of my car at the moment you took that photo. :)

Cheers,

Tom

Happy memories of a brilliant weekend Darren... thankyou for posting. We didn,t really get up to any great speed but travelling bet 30 and 40mph on the narrow bits seemed fast enough to me. I also cannot forget the welsh word for slow now as its the noise a small dog would make...ARAF !. :)

A few seconds clip, when leaving pub that Nasra took from inside the car on her phone.

See the frustrated Ford driver?!

He's just angry that he didn't think to buy an A2 rather than a mondeo :)

Do you think we planted the message by forcibly driving 18 A2's past his eye's? probably burn't an image of A2's on his retina's?...lol ;)

Wow, what a fabulous weekend. Thank you so much for organising it Steve - quite how you managed to avoid shouting 'will you all just get in your %&$£ cars" at some points was beyond me. No sooner had we agreed that we were heading off, than bonnets and number plates were off - it was so funny. I really can't thank you enough for such a wonderful social.

The views were amazing and the route went past a little stopping point that I was taken to before I decided to move to Wales. At the time there were sheep and snow and I was hooked. No snow this time, but it reminded my why such a big part of my heart still lives in Wales.

Thank you too to Murdo and James for letting ride the jump seat. One thing that is better than driving an A2 is being chauffeured about in one! At some point I will have a go at putting up the video I took as I managed to capture the point that we went over the hill and had that amazing view over the valley in front of us.

And finally a massive than you to everyone for such fabulous company. I met a few new people and I think most of us fell in love with young Cronus and Steve's two gorgeous girls.

Love and hugs Teresa

What and where is the road in the long video? that is the kind of road I would love to ride my motorbiker on, i was surprised there wasnt any bikes on that road.

Ahh, no need . I saw the sign for LLANGYNIDR and googled it, found the road on goog maps and saw it is the B5460............... great road and views

I think the main reason that there aren't too many bikes are the small fluffy white things lounging around at the side of the road. They care not too hoots for any vehicles in the road and when i lived down there, I heard of a few people who ended up sliding a bike because a sheep just walked into the road and stared at them (thankfully nothing serious, but you can't get any real speed up)

I can relate to the sheep just wandering in the road...seen that got the T shirt...but I am now at an age where I think I am Rossi are well behind me. Just potter along and enjoy the scenery.....:)
