There is our other hobby motor

As well as looking after the A2, which is like an attention seeking puppy at times, here is a couple of snaps of our other hobby motor...

"Wally" (named after my late grandfather) is a 1982 Air Cooled T25 (T3) :)

Originally an Autosleeper VT20 4 berth "pop top" conversion. It is mostly original, all the inside is original, the outside has been re-printed (not brilliantly) in dark brown with cream detail bits here and there that we have added. The paint is interesting, not everyone cuppa, but over the last few months its grown on me.

We bought the van this year, from a close friend who owned it for 10yrs, and it looked like this:

After a good few weekends of effort, retouching areas (extensive rust treatment and filling!!), it has ended up looking like this:

Even more effort and we had this:

And as it currently stands:

The inside looking nice and standard (seeky A2 in the background...)

Spec wise its a standard 2ltr air cooled flat four pushing out about 70ish bhp, it lowered slightly too and I think the height is about right without being silly or uncomfortable.

Hope you've enjoyed, something a little different, and makes people smile ;)

Cheers,
Dan

Nice T25 I used to own one myself and always had a soft spot for them. Did you go to Busfest this year seeing as its on your doorstep? I had a great weekend and ended up spending a fortune!

Yes we went to busfest, but only as a day visitor. We came to the scene late this year. I managed to control myself and only bought a few essentials :)

Looking forward to next years camping / days out already!! :)

There used to be a really good meet up in the summer months at the hope and anchor in ross on wye in the summer months lots of busses really chilled out. I've had a vw van for the past 5 years and I'm loving them. But these A2's can be addictive too we've only owned it two weeks and I'm already tinkering with it

There is no cure for the A2 bug !!! (thankfully)

One thing is for sure is that the more people that discover them, the more people who like them, and the number of A2s will not increase.

That equates to an healthy future for our cars.

A little like the old VWs as far as a dwindling availability and a growing "fan club" (talking about bugs and buses here!)

I agree Steve the A2's are an infectious little b****r. Gets right under your skin, not always in a positive way, but all the same its a hoot to drive around town. We do intend to keep ours for a long while.

The Van on the otherhand is proper laid back, no rush, no fuss driving. Very agricultural in its get up but makes you smile at every wheel turn. :)
