Late yesterday afternoon an 05 Tdi 75 appeared on Autotrader at a local dealers from memory 85000 miles and looked quite tidy. It was being sold at £1045. It was reported as having starting problems.
Worth a look I thought.
Got out the overalls, torch and VCDS and was about to set off when I thought, just check. No longer on Autotrader. Garage most unhelpful.
There it was gone.

I saw it go on Autotrader around lunch time and spoke to the guy.

It was an 05 Silver Special Edition with 108k so basic spec with original 15" alloys.

It did have climate control (very clean original panel) concert cd, rear bench seat and front fogs.

3 owners and I believe had been well looked after before it was part exchanged to the, as you say ignorant dealer just south of Manchester.

It was £1049 and if it was closer to me I might have been tempted to take a look as it could have been a good base car to work from although it had no service history and only one key.

Hopefully someone off here has got a bargain and it's just the battery or starter motor earth that needs sorting with nothing else untoward ??

Funny, an exactly the same car was advertised on Autotrader the day before (Wednesday) and was only on for around an hour or so before it too was removed.

Same 05 Silver Special Edition but 1 owner from new and only 25k miles!

It was a London car though and typically therefore had a couple of scuffs that would need attention (front wheel arch and rear bumper) looked nice though.

It was priced at £3250 and when you think about it does make you wonder which would be the better car, one that has done 108k over 16 years or the other that's the same age and done 25k but costs 3 times more.

For my money the 108k mile car would probably be the better car regardless of price but when factoring that in it's really a no brainer.

That said when the car is minted up it's still a 1 owner 25k mile A2 TDI that on paper to the right person would command big bucks and I'm sure we will see it advertised soon for just that, unless someone on here has managed to get in there early and secure it for their keeper of course? ?
